Forced to Go Abroad
New information out this week underscores the critical need for congressional staffers to receive a substantial increase in pay.
Fred W. Pagan, a staffer for U.S. Senator Thad Cochran (R-Miss.) was arrested by officers from Homeland Security yesterday for allegedly purchasing drugs from China with the intent to sell them for “sexual favors.”
Pagan was paid about $160,000 last year but let’s face it, DC is expensive.
Though congress is struggling with an expansion of free trade it’s not known whether methamphetamine would be covered and if so whether a Chinese knock-off would do.
Illegal importation of Chinese meth would certainly drive down the street price of meth stifling a burgeoning segment of local entrepreneurship.
Can’t a guy make a buck?
Sexual Favors?
Pagan allegedly told authorities he was exchanging drugs for sexual favors.
Perhaps adequate compensation would allow him to simply pay cash for the sex or purchase US made meth thus supporting the local economy while demonstrating patriotic fervor.
Is the sex really a “favor” if you have to pay for it?
“Hey, can you do me a favor?”
