Trump in 54 Seconds: “Get the Baby Out of Here”
Forget the Ukraine, Crimea or Russia.
Or whether or not he trashes women or people of color or folks with disabilities.
A crying kid in Ashburn, Virginia, sums up the utter strangeness of the craziest candidate since Andrew Jackson.
Trump calls attention to the crying babe in arms (video here) and then goes on for 26 seconds about how super it all is.
“Don’t worry about that baby, I love babies,” Trump said. “I hear that baby crying and I like it. What a beautiful baby. … It’s young and beautiful and healthy, and that’s what we want.”
His praise for the crying babe is fulsome, effusive, over the top.
Then, he does a total 180 degree reversal.
“Actually, I was only kidding, you can get the baby out of here, That’s all right. Don’t worry. I think she really believed me that I love having a baby crying while I’m speaking. That’s OK. People don’t understand. That’s OK.”
Jekyll and Hyde
The “I love the baby” Trump is the candidate for the presidency, not just lying about crying babies, but laying on the bullshit for nearly 30 seconds, all of it false, false, false.
The “Get the baby out of here” Trump is the real deal.
How offensive it is to him to have a crying baby in the crowd.
Ironically, there were two crying babes, one at the podium and one in the audience.
The Crucial Words
“That’s OK. People don’t understand. That’s OK.”
That statement is a clear admission that it’s up to us to intuit when Trump is lying or telling the truth and to act accordingly.
And that, my friends, is the mark of a true narcissist.
And a reckless and pathological one, at that.
It’s chilling.
Trump said, “people don’t understand.”
Yes we do.
