Mrs. Clinton said she did not reveal the Pneumonia diagnosis because she did not think “it was a big deal.”
Then, some liberal bloggers came along to say it isn’t a big deal.
Imagine yourself sitting on the examining table in your doctor’s office when she or he strides in, test results in hand and says to you, “you have pneumonia–but it’s no big deal.”
Please, already.
Pneumonia is the eighth leading cause of death in the U.S.
While it is very treatable, the seriousness escalates with age and proper care and rest is essential for a full recovery.
David Axelrod, former Obama adviser, tweeted, “Antibiotics can take care of pneumonia. What’s the cure for an unhealthy penchant for privacy that repeatedly creates unnecessary problems?”
Nailed it.
It is an extremely disappointing fact that even now she hasn’t learned to simply be candid.
Her dissembling lowers her to the same level as her opponent, who is amply known for all manner of bizarre statements, subsequent take-backs, denials and generally unsupported blather.
Her chief criticism has been that she is always hiding something and right there you have it.
Again, withholding the diagnosis allows comparison with Trump, who by withholding his taxes cements the conclusion that he has something to hide.
She can do better than that.
They are both found wanting, for sure.
Of the two, she is clearly qualified to be president through demonstrated experience and ability while he simply channels his admirer’s base emotions without real and constructive ideas.
I’ll take Clinton on a ventilator scribbling post-it notes over “Mr. Where’s the Nukes and Why Don’t We Use Them.”
