Harvey Weinstein
Disgraced entertainment guru and alleged serial sexual assaulter Harvey Weinstein is being outed again, this time over the revelation that he hired spies/private dicks in an effort to shut down unfavorable press about him in the New York Times and the New Yorker.
According to the New Yorker, “One of the investigators pretended to be a women’s-rights advocate and secretly recorded at least four meetings with McGowan [one of Weinstein’s legion of accusers.]
Weintstein has a very long and sordid history of inappropriate conduct and a similar habit of making the bad news disappear one way or the other, at least until now.
When faced with the news that the truth was about to leak out, he enlisted spies to try and stop it.
IAFF members have been here before, we have our own “Harvey” but his name is Harold.

In 2015, when Schaitberger found out that the very same New York Times had obtained evidence of his lavish and improper spending of member’s dues he did a Harvey Weinstein, hiring a high-priced group of private eyes to shut down knowledge of his misdeeds.
He hired IGI/The Lenzner Group, with our money, in an attempt to stop “leaks” of information about his unethical activities.
Longtime and fiercely loyal IAFF members had their phone records, emails and other information pried into.
It was and is a dark day for the IAFF.
How much did it cost us?
$350,000.
But, just like Weinstein, in the end, he achieved nothing accept to prove that there is no limit to his rotten behavior.

He was unable to stop or stem the flow of information and his attempt to punish people who did nothing more than speak the truth, failed completely.
Weinstein, Schaitberger and their ilk build kingdoms and surround themselves with boot-licking lackeys who do their dirty work for table scraps.

With Weinstein there were apparently any number of pimps lining up innocent women for him to go after.
In Schaitberger’s case it’s his submissive and slavish board who pimp for him even when the integrity of our union is on the line.
And like Harvey’s downfall, Harold’s rule will one day be fully exposed and the pimps of today will be the scoundrels of tomorrow.
There is justice in that.
