Schaitberger Stalls Over a Racist Buffoon

Here’s former GOP vice-presidential candidate and Alaska governor/quitter Sarah Palin on Paul Revere,

“He who warned, uh, the British that they weren’t gonna be takin’ away our arms, uh, by ringing those bells, and um, makin’ sure as he’s riding his horse through town to send those warning shots and bells that we were going to be sure and we were going to be free, and we were going to be armed.”

Right.

That was the person chosen by the GOP to be a “heart beat away” and John McCain’s principle adviser.

My personal favorite may be the time she said, “But obviously, we’ve got to stand with our North Korean allies.”

And, she said this about being gay,

“One of my absolute best friends for the last 30 years happens to be gay and I love her dearly, and she is not my “gay” friend, she is one of my best friends, who happens to have made a choice that isn’t a choice that I have made, but … I’m not gonna judge people.”

underscoring her belief that human sexuality is simply a choice that people make, perhaps when they wake up each morning, just like deciding what to wear that day or have for breakfast.

Gee, I think I’ll be gay today!

One explanation for the GOP deciding on Palin is that the Right hates Obama so much that they are effectively blinded to reason.

Trump on the Stump

Not only are they doing it again, this time their collective rage has caused them to choose a candidate for the top spot who makes Palin’s prognostications seem rational and staid.

According to the Daily Beast, here’s Trump on blacks, women and Jews.

“You know, it doesn’t really matter what [the media] write as long as you’ve got a young and beautiful piece of ass.”

“Black guys counting my money! I hate it. The only kind of people I want counting my money are little short guys that wear yarmulkes every day.”

And on being rich and smart,

“The beauty of me is that I’m very rich.”
“Sorry losers and haters, but my I.Q. is one of the highest—and you all know it! Please don’t feel so stupid or insecure. It’s not your fault.”
It’s amazing given the facts that our union is paralyzed and unable to make a decision over which of the candidates will be best for our members and working families.
But, it goes beyond that.
If Schaitberger and the board cares even a shred about a diverse and equitable union they should be repudiating Trump and his many offensive comments regarding women, latinos and others.
The fact that they don’t proves two things: their lack of commitment to a diverse IAFF and their inability to make decisions when it really matters.
